Sky Veil T'was thieved from Current mood: Current music: Led Zepplin - Immigrant Song. ![]() Again, all of you ROCK HARDCORE! Current mood: Current music: Estopa - Yo Tengo. Because of faulty pipes in my apartment complex (resulting in constant leaks and complaints from downstairs), my bathroom has to be completely overhauled. New bathtub/shower, new pipes, new walls, yum! However, to do all that work they had to remove the toilet, which is now in Ryan's room. He comes back to town Friday! He has told me that if that toilet is still in his room when he gets back, he may have no choice but to "use the facilities"! I LOL'd pretty hard for some reason Current mood: Current music: Celldweller - The Last Firstborn. Anything I was originally gonna say today has been dwarfed by the V-Tech issue. Comments about 24, Heroes, Pokémon, and everything in between will have to wait Current mood: Current music: Final Fantasy 7 - Sending a Dream into the Universe. Anyone know where I originally made this? ![]() I have no idea and I would really like to find the site again. Current music: Frost - Alphabet. A few months back Ryan and I picked up Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire because "they were cheap". It was my first "official" foray into the Pokémon universe. He owned the original Red version for the Game Boy, which EVERYONE would play at Chess Tournaments during High School. But since these games only allow ONE FILE, no one never got really far. While I did buy the game a few months back (it was sometime before I bought a Wii), I just started it last week. While, yes, Pokémon is your standard "cute RPG", I couldn't truly get into Ruby. The reason? I didn't know a DAMN THING about any of the Pokémon in that game! All my knowledge of Pokémon came from old GB game and the Weekday Morning Cartoon, which was basically the "first generation" of Pokémon. I think I really liked it because they were cute, semi-believable animals. I mean, everyone knows Pikachu, the electric mouse. I could believe catching a bird and training it. What I can't buy is some of the newer Pokémon and some of the more outlandish creations the series has made. I'm sorry, but I just can't get into a Torchic that because a Flaming Fighting "bird" (term used loosely for Blaziken). So I went out and bought the Leaf Green remake the other day and I'm much happier with it. But that's not my main focus for this entry. What really got me thinking (and I'm sure I mentioned it before) that most of the network television channels scrapped their weekday afternoon line-up of cartoons and moved them strictly to Saturday Mornings. Now I've got a couple theories about why (forcing kids to study/be more active, coincide with airing schedule of most Japanese shows in airing only once a week, or to reach the growing demographic of retiring babyboomers who are staying home in the afternoon and want to watch reruns of late night drama programs), but I digress. I could let it slide only because now I work more during the afternoon time frame, but then I remembered the last bastion of weeday cartoons: Weekday MORNING cartoons! Sadly, they trimmed them down, too. Only one channel showed cartoons and I kept missing 'em because I was waking up and beginning my day! However, I DID happen to catch The Littles on TV this morning; something I haven't seen in YEARS! But it was THE ONLY CARTOON ON IN THE MORNING. And it had the little E/I logo at the top meaning that somehow it was "Educational"? I don't recall the Littles ever being ANYTHING but just "Entertaining". Unless the show is not how I remember, or they're counting ANYTHING as E/I now. Anyone see Maya and Miguel? Outside of the "random" Spanish thrown in with an "occasional" explanation, it's just another cartoon. Maybe it's because it's on PBS kids? I don't know (I only get to see anything resembling cartoons on PBS when I take a really late lunch). And I'm late for work! Current mood: Current music: Pokémon - Battle vs Trainer (FireRed/LeafGreen Version). Remember, my EPIC QUARTER-CENTURY BIRTHDAY COMES UP FRIDAY AFTER NEXT! GO THERE! CONTRIBUTE! You'd do it if you loved me! Current music: Frost - Alphabet. I do have this to say about Evening Royalty! The boss of the Arbiter's Grounds was shaping up to be standard weaksauce, then came the second form, but that's not what's awesome. What's awesome is that they brought back the Boss Theme from Ocarina of Time when you fight Volvagia! That's like, my favorite boss theme, like, EVER! Ok, maybe not ever, but definitely of all Zelda games! Current mood: GLEE!!!. Current music: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Dinosaur Boss Battle. Alright, the time is nigh! Check out Jennie Mae's latest entry on my birthday gift. If you haven't contributed and would like to, leave a note here or there. She has most of the details, but aside from needing cash, there are other things, too. Even a card, or other well-wishes would be appreciated. So if you haven't yet, check it out. It's going to a worthy cause...ME! Current mood: Current music: Final Fantasy XII - Eruyt Village. Since Monday afternoon, Grady's left eye has been closed. Now, this has happened before, so I let it go because it usually clears up in about a day. Not this time Tuesday it was the same, no change, so I thought he needed more time. By Wednesday, it turned red and started to swell. So I took him to the vet and got some ointment. If it doesn't clear up within 3 days, I should take him back and they'll examine him further. I had Erikka come over and look at it and see was really worried (hence the emergency vet visit). The last thing I need is my cat to be sick since I'm broke as a joke until Friday and I have this mysterious cough that won't go away and sounds unusual. There's also this sensation of there being phlem in my throat that just won't come up for the life of me. I need Grady's eye to heal up fast. I need this cough to go away. I just need Friday to get here. Current mood: Current music: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Midna's Desperate Hour. |
